What Is TradeXchange? How CarMazium's Automotive Services Marketplace Works
Discover how TradeXchange works for UK vehicle owners and automotive businesses, from paid delivery and inspection jobs to matched finance and warranty enquiries.

In this article
TradeXchange is the automotive-services side of CarMazium.
It is designed to connect people who need vehicle-related services with approved automotive businesses that can provide them.
Instead of treating every service as the same type of transaction, TradeXchange separates the workflow according to what the customer actually needs.
There are two main models:
- Paid service jobs for Delivery, Recovery and Vehicle Inspection.
- Matched provider enquiries for Vehicle Finance and Warranty.
That distinction is important because the payment flow, provider response and CarMazium fee model are different.
This guide explains the full TradeXchange structure for customers and providers.
What Can You Use TradeXchange For?
TradeXchange currently covers four main customer service areas:
- Vehicle Delivery & Recovery
- Vehicle Inspection
- Vehicle Finance enquiries
- Vehicle Warranty enquiries
It also sits within the wider CarMazium Partner Account structure used by automotive businesses.
You can explore all current services from the TradeXchange services hub.
Paid Jobs vs Matched Enquiries
The easiest way to understand TradeXchange is to separate the services into two groups.
Paid Service Jobs
Delivery, Recovery and Vehicle Inspection use a competitive job marketplace.
The customer posts a job.
Approved businesses for that capability can see the relevant open work and send fixed-price quotes.
The customer chooses the quote they want and pays the accepted service price through CarMazium.
The provider completes the job.
Once completion is confirmed, the provider payout is released.
For these paid jobs, the current economics are:
- 91% provider share
- 9% CarMazium service fee
Matched Provider Enquiries
Vehicle Finance and Warranty use a different model.
The customer submits an enquiry.
With the customer's consent, the enquiry can be shared with up to five matched, approved providers.
Those providers respond using their own:
- eligibility criteria,
- products,
- pricing,
- terms,
- exclusions,
- and regulated disclosures where applicable.
The 91% / 9% paid-job model does not apply to Finance or Warranty enquiries.
Why TradeXchange Uses Separate Workflows
Vehicle delivery and vehicle finance are fundamentally different services.
A transporter can quote a fixed amount to move a vehicle from one location to another.
A finance provider cannot responsibly offer a final lending outcome based only on the same kind of job-posting workflow.
Finance can require:
- eligibility assessment,
- credit checks,
- affordability information,
- product terms,
- APR,
- and regulated disclosures.
Warranty products also vary according to:
- vehicle age,
- mileage,
- value,
- cover level,
- claim limits,
- exclusions,
- and provider terms.
TradeXchange therefore keeps the processes separate rather than forcing unrelated services into one payment model.
Who Can Post a TradeXchange Job?
Any signed-in CarMazium user can post an eligible paid service job.
For example, a user may need:
- a newly purchased car collected,
- a non-runner recovered,
- several vehicles transported,
- or a used car independently inspected before purchase.
The job is shown only to businesses approved for the relevant service capability.
That means a business approved for Vehicle Inspection is not automatically treated as an approved vehicle transporter.
Capability approvals remain separate.
Who Can Quote for Paid Jobs?
Only approved Partner businesses with the correct capability can quote.
For Delivery and Recovery, the provider must be approved for that service area.
For Vehicle Inspection, the provider must be approved specifically for inspection work.
This is designed to keep customer jobs visible to businesses that have been cleared for the relevant type of work.
Providers can manage their service capabilities through their Partner Account.
How Does a Paid TradeXchange Job Work?
The general paid-job flow has four stages.
1. Customer Posts the Job
The customer describes what they need.
For delivery, that includes information such as:
- collection location,
- delivery location,
- vehicle details,
- requested date,
- and whether the car can be driven or needs recovery.
For inspection, it includes:
- vehicle details,
- location,
- requested date,
- and the inspection requirement.
2. Approved Providers Quote
Relevant approved providers can view the open work and send fixed-price quotes.
The customer can compare those quotes before choosing.
3. Customer Chooses and Pays
Once the customer accepts a provider's quote, the service payment is made through CarMazium.
Provider contact details unlock after the accepted quote has been paid.
4. Provider Completes the Work
The provider carries out the agreed job.
When the customer confirms successful completion, the provider payout is released according to the TradeXchange payment flow.
For current service details, see TradeXchange Delivery & Recovery and Vehicle Inspection.
How the 9% TradeXchange Fee Works
For paid Delivery, Recovery and Inspection jobs, CarMazium currently charges a 9% platform fee.
The provider keeps 91% of the accepted job price.
This makes the economics visible before completion.
If a paid job is accepted at £200, the current model would be:
- Customer price: £200
- CarMazium platform fee: £18
- Provider share: £182
The exact figures follow the accepted job price.
This fee structure does not apply to matched Finance and Warranty enquiries.
Why Is the Customer's Service Payment Held Until Completion?
For paid TradeXchange jobs, the customer pays the accepted service amount through CarMazium.
The provider payout is released after the service is successfully completed and completion is confirmed.
That gives both sides a structured workflow.
The customer knows that accepting a quote creates a real paid job.
The provider knows the service payment has been made before contact details and the completed-job process move forward.
It is different from simply exchanging a phone number and hoping both sides follow through.
When Are Contact Details Shared?
For paid Delivery/Recovery and Inspection jobs, private provider contact details are shared after:
- the customer selects the provider,
- the quote is accepted,
- and the service payment is completed through CarMazium.
Before that point, the providers compete through the platform workflow.
This reduces pressure to move the deal outside the system before the customer has chosen a quote.
What Is Different About Finance Enquiries?
Vehicle Finance does not use the paid-job payout flow.
The customer enters information such as:
- vehicle registration or vehicle details,
- approximate value,
- deposit,
- preferred term,
- monthly budget,
- employment status,
- annual income,
- postcode,
- and contact information.
The user must agree that CarMazium may share the enquiry and contact details with up to five matched, approved finance providers.
CarMazium is introducing the customer to providers.
It is not making the lending decision.
Any:
- eligibility decision,
- credit check,
- APR,
- product terms,
- affordability process,
- and regulated disclosure
comes from the finance provider.
You can see the live workflow on the TradeXchange Finance page.
What Is Different About Warranty Enquiries?
Warranty also uses a matched-enquiry model rather than a paid TradeXchange job.
The customer can provide:
- vehicle details,
- mileage,
- approximate value,
- preferred warranty length,
- desired cover level,
- postcode,
- phone number,
- and additional notes.
The customer can select cover preferences such as:
- Essential,
- Comprehensive,
- Premium,
- or Not sure.
With consent, CarMazium may share the enquiry with up to five approved warranty providers.
Those providers supply their own:
- product terms,
- pricing,
- exclusions,
- eligibility,
- and claim limits.
Customers should compare the provider's full terms before purchasing.
The current workflow is available on the TradeXchange Warranty page.
What Is a Partner Account?
A Partner Account is CarMazium's business account structure for automotive businesses.
One Partner Account can be used as the business identity, while individual service capabilities are approved separately.
A business might operate as:
- a motor trader,
- vehicle transporter,
- inspection provider,
- finance provider,
- warranty provider,
- or a combination of approved capabilities.
Having one business account does not mean every service is automatically enabled.
That separation helps make sure customers are matched with businesses approved for the work they are offering.
Can Staff Work Through a Partner Business?
TradeXchange is designed so authorised staff can act for the business where the correct permissions are granted.
That is useful for companies where:
- one person manages quotes,
- another carries out inspections,
- another coordinates drivers,
- and payments are made to the business rather than individual staff members.
The business remains the provider identity.
Why Would a Customer Use TradeXchange Instead of Calling One Provider?
The central idea is comparison.
For paid jobs, the customer can post the work once and allow several approved providers to compete with quotes.
That can be more efficient than:
- searching for providers individually,
- repeating the same route or vehicle information several times,
- and manually comparing responses from different channels.
For Finance and Warranty, the customer can submit one structured enquiry and allow matched approved providers to respond.
The final choice still belongs to the customer.
Why Would an Automotive Business Join TradeXchange?
For providers, TradeXchange creates access to customers who are already inside a vehicle buying, selling or ownership journey.
A transporter can see suitable vehicle movement work.
An inspection business can see inspection requests.
A finance provider can receive relevant customer enquiries.
A warranty provider can receive enquiries from users already looking at vehicle ownership decisions.
That can create an additional demand channel without requiring every customer to discover the provider independently.
What Information Should Customers Include?
Good information improves the quality of the response.
For paid jobs, include accurate:
- vehicle details,
- locations,
- dates,
- running condition,
- access restrictions,
- and special requirements.
For Finance or Warranty, complete the required enquiry fields as accurately as possible.
Poor information can lead to:
- unsuitable quotes,
- delays,
- providers declining the work,
- or extra clarification before anything can proceed.
What Happens If the Requested Date Is in the Past?
TradeXchange validates requested dates so paid Delivery and Inspection jobs cannot intentionally be posted with a past requested date.
If no specific date is supplied where the workflow permits it, the job can be treated as needing the service as soon as practicable.
This helps keep the available-job marketplace relevant to providers.
Are Finance and Warranty Enquiries Permanent?
No.
TradeXchange finance and warranty enquiries have a lifecycle.
Open enquiries can expire rather than remaining available indefinitely.
That helps avoid approved providers receiving stale requests long after the customer has moved on.
It also keeps provider dashboards focused on current demand.
How Does TradeXchange Fit With CarMazium Vehicle Buying and Selling?
TradeXchange is designed to sit alongside the wider marketplace.
A user might:
- buy a vehicle,
- request an inspection,
- arrange delivery,
- explore finance,
- and compare warranty options.
A motor trader might:
- buy stock through the CarMazium auction,
- arrange transport,
- use inspection services,
- and operate through the same Partner Account ecosystem.
That is the broader idea behind TradeXchange: vehicle services should connect to the vehicle transaction rather than feeling like unrelated websites.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is TradeXchange Only for Motor Traders?
No.
Signed-in CarMazium users can post eligible customer service jobs and enquiries.
Providers, however, must be approved for the relevant business capability before they can quote or receive matched enquiries.
Does TradeXchange Handle the Vehicle Purchase Price?
No.
TradeXchange service-payment flows are separate from the actual purchase price of a vehicle.
CarMazium's vehicle marketplace model keeps the underlying vehicle purchase money directly between buyer and seller.
Is the 9% Fee Charged on Finance?
No.
The 91% provider share / 9% CarMazium fee model applies to paid Delivery, Recovery and Vehicle Inspection jobs.
Finance and Warranty use matched-enquiry workflows instead.
How Many Finance or Warranty Providers Can Receive an Enquiry?
The current customer consent flow allows the enquiry and contact details to be shared with up to five matched, approved providers.
Can Any Provider Quote?
No.
The business must be approved for the relevant capability.
Where Can I Post a TradeXchange Job?
Start from the TradeXchange services hub and choose the service you need.
The Bottom Line
TradeXchange is not one generic lead form.
It is a set of automotive-service workflows built around the type of service being requested.
Delivery, Recovery and Inspection are paid jobs where approved providers compete with fixed-price quotes. The customer pays the accepted job through CarMazium, and the provider currently keeps 91% after the 9% CarMazium platform fee.
Finance and Warranty are matched enquiries. Approved providers respond with their own products and terms, and the paid-job 9% model does not apply.
For customers, the goal is simpler access to relevant providers.
For automotive businesses, the goal is access to suitable demand through a verified Partner Account ecosystem.
